I’m Alyssa Petrofes, and I’m a 24-year-old artist who’s been living in Australia for 12 years. 

I grew up in the USA, but changing hemispheres hasn’t changed my passion for capturing the essence of life. My love for creating started early on with pencil portraits, and I’ve refined my skills through progressing my technique to include colour pencils and acrylic painting. Branching out in this way has allowed me to not just grow as an artist, but as a person too – as someone who’s struggled with mental health, art has been an important part of my life that’s helped me get through.

A lover of the finer things in life, I thrive on sharp detail and shape my work to give attention to all the small things. Bringing joy to others through art by conveying the presence and personality of a subject is what it’s all about for me, whether it’s a beloved pet or your favourite person – I love recreating whatever makes them unique so it never fades. 

In 2021 I was lucky enough to take my creative passions beyond the artwork realm! As a typical southern American, I am someone with a big heart and opened arm for helping anyone.

Growing up in a big family, I learned the importance of expression and caring for others. I believe this lead me to the path of becoming a celebrant. My wish is to bring a connection to your event that allows your wishes and ideas come to life.
